Great soil, great growing!
Our garden plots are raised no dig gardens – a necessity as V.V. is on pure sand, right on the water table.
Each February we bring in manure, compost and straw and top up the garden beds. Then add a sprinkling of minerals, water it all in we leave it all settle for a few weeks .
Come March, when it has cooled down, we plant the new seedlings with a dash of worm castings. Mulching the beds with straw keeps weeds down and moisture in. Over the years our soil is now microbe and earth worm rich, and with topped up nutrients each year, seedlings thrive.
